Top 10 Reasons why YOU should join the U.S. Water Ski Show Team

  1. You’ll be part of the best water ski team in the EAST!
  2. All team members are volunetters and volunteering is FUN! We are always looking for new members!!
  3. You don’t have to know how to ski—we will teach you! Lots of challenging new things to try.
  4. You will make lots of new friends and have lots of FUN!
  5. Our shows are like a Broadway play except they are on water where the stage is NEVER the same. Never gets boring!
  6. You can use some of your unique talents to help our team function…from sewing skills to computer skills, everyone has something to offer the team.
  7. You can be part of a non-profit organization whose main goal is to entertain families with their water ski shows.
  8. All ages are welcome! No age or skill requirement.
  9. Being a team member will keep you in shape!
  10. Being a team member will keep you verybusy in the summer!

Often misunderstood, all of our members are dues-paying volunteers. The team has no payroll.

Throughout the year, (yes we do meet year round) our team members log in thousands of volunteer hours to make our team function. Each year a new theme is chosen for our show. Starting in September, team members start working on the choreography of the show, costumes, ropes, personnel, boat patterns plus making sure we have funds to complete our tasks at hand. There are numerous jobs that take place off the water and the team could not survive without them. So even if you don’t know how to ski or don’t want to learn, there are many opportunities to participate. Some of our most valued members do not ski!

Our skiers make the different acts look SO easy but let us caution you, don’t try any of these acts at home without the right instruction. It takes a lot of hard work, determination and practice to acquire these skills…but you CAN learn! Once a team member, seasoned team skiers will help you learn the different acts. They will also work with people who would like to spot in a boat or help with ropes. Our team not only loves to perform, but we also love to teach. We know that new skiers are the future of this team so our we  love to share our knowledge. All you need to bring is a good attitude and willingness to try new things!

For more information on membership, please feel free to stop by Jumpin’ Jack’s any night of the week in the summer. We are always there practicing. If it is during the off-season, you can call our hotline at 518-374-7405 and leave a message. A team member will get back to you shortly. For a team membership application, click here.

If you are still uncertain about making a commitment to join the team as a new skier, check our calendar or ask a team member about our LEARN TO SKI CLINICS. The clinics are open to the public. It is a great place to learn by the best skiers in the East!  We welcome anyone who wants to learn so what are you waiting for?  Sign up now and be on your way to be our next new skier!  We also offer gift certificates, a great gift idea for that special someone!
